The Royal Meteorological Society (RMetS) is the leading independent expert in weather and climate. RMets are a membership charity with a mission to engage, enthuse and educate by promoting the understanding and application of weather and climate science for the benefit of all. RMets work to strengthen the science and raise awareness of the importance of weather and climate, support meteorological professionals and inspire enthusiasts.


The 170th anniversary presented an opportunity to use the RMets brand to both explain and galvanize change; getting ready for the next 170 years in the RMets story. This was an opportunity to take stock. We reviewed the current brand and sub-brands. It was a chance to highlight RMets legacy, reengage employees with what RMets stands for and encourage them to work together or the benefit of the entire organisation. The RMetS brand identity also had some consistency, visibility and legibility concerns when applied across digital platforms.

RMetS sub-brands, MetLink and theWeather club have both been brought into line with the new RMetS brand in order to create a consistent relationship between them.
